The purpose of Pittsburgh Tank's Quality
Control programs are to insure that all products
manufactured and sold by Pittsburgh Tank
Corporation are constructed with the highest
possible quality.
Management fully supports all of the Quality Control
programs. Our dedicated Quality Control Manager reports
directly to the president of Pittsburgh Tank
. The Quality Control Manager has the
responsibility of identifying quality control problems,
and the authority to initiate, recommend, and provide
solutions. Any problems are brought directly to
management's attention.
Pittsburgh Tank Corporation is ASME
certified "U" and "R." All welders employed by our
company are ASME certified Section IX, and AWS.
Pittsburgh Tank Corporation quality
control personnel hold AWS QC-1 inspection certificates.
All other destructive and non-destructive testing is
performed on a contract basis.
All jobs are subject to the following Quality Control
Procedures:

Administration Review: The
administration review is broken down into
specific review, purchase order review,
exceptions and revisions, and change order
control.

Engineering Quality Control:
Engineering starts with a design review meeting.
Engineering/drawing release, drawing control,
pre-submittal review, revision/correction,
and approval evaluation all take place before
the drawings are released to the shop,
purchasing, and scheduling.

Manufacturing Quality Control:
Manufacturing personnel discuss the
implementation of material recieval and tagging.
In-process inspection, assembly inspection,
testing requirements, coating requirements, and
final inspection requirements all ensure that
the product is constructed in accordance with
our high standards of quality.

Shipping Control: Our transportation
evaluation/selection and scheduling, tracking
and delivery validation, documentation and
records ensure that Pittsburgh Tank
Corporation maintains its unheard-of
96% ship on-time rate.

Pittsburgh Tank Corporation's Quality
Control Program for Un-fired Pressure Vessels has been
established to match or exceed all American Society of
Engineers (ASME) Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code,
Section VIII, Division 1, National Board Inspection Code
and Jurisdictional requirements, including material,
design, fabrication, examination and inspection.
The ASME manual establishes an orderly and effective
Quality Control System covering in-shop manufacturing,
repair, and alteration of pressure vessels. Close
adherence to the procedures specified in our Quality
Control Manual will assure the maintenance of high
quality standards.
Both our ASME code, and Non-Code Quality Control Manuals
are available to customers upon request.
