Press Brake & Shearing
Pittsburgh Tank can brake material up to 1/2" thick and 14' wide. Our Pacific 300 ton press brake plays an integral role in our manufacturing process with its ability to bend and form a wide variety of shapes, including custom cones, transitions and ducting.
Pittsburgh Tank has two shears capable of cutting material up to 12 ft. wide. By shearing material, we have the ability to hold tight tolerances on our small parts and accessories.
Utilizing our shears to cut material allows us to reduce our overall costs as there is no edge preparation required and the material can go directly to fabrication.
Rolling
Pittsburgh Tank has the ability to roll a variety of materials and shapes; we have two plate bending rolls and one structural roll.
Our smaller Roundo plate bending rolls can roll material 8 ft. wide up through 3/8" thick, the larger Roundo plate bending rolls can roll material 10 ft. wide up through 1" thick.
We have the ability to roll shapes other than plate, our Roundo structural bending rolls can roll channel, angles, and I-beams. With our capacity and experience, we are certain we can meet and exceed your expectations.
Plasma Cutting
To help ensure our customer receives the highest quality product available, Pittsburgh Tank utilizes two high definition plasma systems to cut material for small parts and system accessories.
Our 14ft. wide x 40 ft. long cutting area is capable of cutting material to a tolerance of .01 in. and in some cases burn to laser tolerances. Our high definition plasma is capable of cutting carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum up to 1 in. thick. This machine is used to burn out the majority of all of our small parts and with the highest tolerance, is even capable of burning out holes at a diameter of 1/4" depending on the plate thickness.
Welding
Pittsburgh Tank is ASME certified "U" and can manually and automatically weld a large variety of materials including stainless alloys, aluminum alloys and carbon steel. With over 20 different certified procedures, our welders can produce the strong, high quality welds our customers demand.
Pittsburgh Tank has the ability to fabricate and weld in accordance with ASME, AWS, API, and AWWA.

Sandblasting & Painting
Prior to painting, our products are sandblasted with recycled steel grit in our 22 ft. wide, 22 ft tall, and 80 ft. long blast booth to meet our customers finish specifications. Surface preparation is critical so as to maximize the system's coating life which in turn minimize costs down the road for owners with regards to maintenance. Our products receive a standard commercial preparation of SSPC-SP6 although our facility is capable of providing as high as a SSPC-SP5 preparation when required.
Our dedicated painting facility is 60 ft. wide and 175 ft. long and is equipped with two 15 ton cranes. There are two 18 ft. x 18 ft. doors located in the rear of the building that exits to our four acre storage area.
